In a poll of using separate shoe-bags, 8 out of every 10 people said they didn’t even care about separate shoe-bags.
As any average citizen, you walk on different floors, be it rock solid or wet, muddy roads. It may not affect if you are in your city but what if you are traveling?
Packing your dirty shoes with other things which touch your face (like face masks) is not a good idea at all.
Hence, keeping a separate bag or box for packing your shoes is utmost necessary.
According to Dr. William Schaffner, professor of preventive medicine at Vanderbilt University and an infectious diseases expert, the risk is zero. Whether you put your shoes in shoe covers when you travel has more to do with how fastidious you are about your clothes and things.
However, if you don’t carry an extra bag and put everything in a single case, you may be subject to strong infection, even on your face.
Hence, it is highly recommended to have extra bags for shoes.
What are the types of options you may have?
- Cotton DrawString Sacks:
Throughout the long term, a serious bundle of these little fabric drawstring sacks is now a part of my packing essentials.
A few companies use them rather than paper or plastic shopping packs. These are my go-to shoe sacks since they keep the soil and grime from my footwear off everything else in my bag.
However, they are excessively lightweight and don’t occupy an additional room.
- Packing Cube-Duo:
An alternative of these cotton sacks, more structured as well as waterproof?
‘Shoe-cube Duo’ can be a great alternative. This pair of shoe boxes, recycled from plastic water bottles, will keep grime off the remainder of your apparel. Furthermore, these boxes also come with transparent tops so that you will no longer need to open up every bag or box to find your shoes.
- Packing Cubes for Hiking Shoes:
An option for your Mud-caked hiking shoes, structured and waterproof as well?
Eagle creek shoe cubes are specially designed to tackle such issues. These cubes can be used to carry shoes with size up to US men’s 13.
These ripstop nylon fabric cubes are super light but come with a waterproof coating that will never let you worry about your clothes getting dirty or wet.
- Weekender Bags with shoe compartments:
Don’t want to use any cubes or cotton sacks to carry your shoes?
A weekender bag can be the best alternative. These bags not only provide different compartments for shoes but also come with waterproof coatings, which will save your other essentials and apparels from getting dirty or wet.
